        文莱商标的保护期限和续展（Duration of Registration & Renewal in Brunei）

        商标注册的有效期为自商标申请之日起10年，可以每十年更新一次。 商标注册可以因不使用而被取消，并且可以由于不可注册性而无效。

        A trademark registration in Brunei is valid for 10 years and starts with registration date. The registration is renewable for periods of 10 years.

        注册后的商标如不使用的时间达到5年，将取消其商标的注册资格。

        If the registered trademark is not used for 5 years, its registration qualification will be cancelled. 

        注意事项Remarks

        当侵权发生时，所有者 (Applicant/owner)不需要提供使用商标的证据，仅需提供注册证明即可处理该侵权行为。 可是，第三方可以要求撤三他人的任何非法/侵权的行为。 因此，如果所有者仅使用商标而不把商标进行注册，则他可能会花费更多的时间，费用和精力来证明商标的所有权。

        When infringement occurs, the owner does not have to provide evidence of using trademark and only need to give the proof of registration in order to deal with this infringement. Moreover, he can claim cancellation to any illegal actions of others. Therefore, If the owner only uses trademark without registering, he may spend more time, expense, effort to prove for ownership of trademark.
